A day here

How a day goes at Snuggle

In words, not clock times: the rhythm matters more than the hour.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Arrival

Each child is greeted at the door, hangs up their coat and chooses something quiet to start.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Morning play

Blocks, play dough, puzzles and paint at the kitchen table, in groups that change from day to day.

  3. 03

Step 3: Snack and a story

A snack at the table, then a story on the rug or the sofa.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Outside, or in

Fresh air in the yard in every season the weather allows. On the coldest days, the living room becomes the gym.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Lunch and rest

Lunch from Janine's kitchen, then a nap or quiet time. Babies sleep when they need to.

  6. 06

    Step 6: Afternoon and pickup

Quiet play, a second snack and a chat at the door, so you hear how the day went.

The places

Where the day happens

Children seen from behind at a low table on small chairs, an adult pouring water at the edge

The table

Most of the morning happens here, on small chairs, with the window behind it.

Two children seen from behind on a seesaw in a yard, a caregiver watching

The yard

Climbing, digging and long conversations on the seesaw, whenever the weather lets us out.
