Janine Engstrom
Owner and caregiver
Janine looks after the children in her own home in Hermantown. She cooks the lunch, plays in the yard and meets every child at the door.
Janine grew up in northern Minnesota and has cared for other people's children at her kitchen table for many winters. She cooks lunch every day, plays in the yard and keeps the group to the number the license allows. She knows what a Hermantown February asks of a toddler's boots, and she plans the days around it. She would like you to meet her before you decide.

Why a home
A house has a front door, a kitchen and a yard, and children know how to live in one. Janine keeps the day close to what a family does: breakfast leftovers on the counter, a pot on the stove, a walk to the mailbox when the weather allows.
She is the one adult, so you talk to her at the door every day. That is the point.
