Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A child with a fever, vomiting or a rash stays home until they are well. If a child becomes unwell during the day, Janine calls you. Please tell her about any illness going around at home.
Drop-off and pickup
Only the people on your pickup list take a child home. Janine asks for ID from anyone she hasn't met, so tell her ahead if someone else is coming.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Janine cooks lunch and serves two snacks. For babies, families send a bottle or baby food. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask again in private once you enroll.
Naps and safe sleep
Babies sleep on their backs, in their own cot, with nothing else in the cot. Older children rest on a mat at nap time, with a quiet book if they don't sleep.
Closures for weather and holidays
The home closes on public holidays and for a week in summer, and Janine posts the dates in the family portal. In a winter storm she decides early and texts families. If Janine is ill, a substitute the children know steps in, or she tells you early so you can plan.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice in writing. If your plans change sooner, talk to Janine; she would rather hear early.
What to wear and bring
Dress for the day in layers. In winter, send snow pants, waterproof boots, mittens, a warm hat and a spare pair of socks. In every season, send a full change of clothes and a water bottle.
Something we didn't cover?
Ask Janine at the tour, or call her in the evening.
